Bookings open 2 June 2023 Come and explore with Southern Right Charters on a whale watching trip of a lifetime. Get up close and personal to the gentle giants of the deep. Sighting include mainly Southern Right Whales, however Humpback Whales, Bryde’s Whales, Dolphins and Penguins are also seen quite frequently. Additional sightings include a variety of marine birds as well as the endangered African Penguin. Our custom and purpose built catamaran ensures the ultimate comfort and stability to guests and the numerous viewing platforms allows offer spectacular viewing opportunities for all guests. Whale season is between June and December when the Southern Right Whales migrate to warmer waters to breed and calve. Trips last between 1h30 minutes and 3h00 and depends on the traveling time to the whales. Trips depart daily at 09h00, 12h00 and 15h00 from Hermanus, known as the whale capital of the world. Southern Right Charters are permitted up to 50 feet from the whales. It is not uncommon for these curious creatures to swim right up to the boat. Embark on one of the most exhilarating Zipline`s in the world - but half the fun is getting to the "nest" our starting point 7 Km into the mountains. This 3.2 Km Zipline is the world's single longest. Arrive at our base camp 20 minutes prior to your booking. Here our guides will assist you with our formal check-in procedure. After the formalities have been done you will be escorted to the Harness Deck where we will do the fitting and securing your harness. A brief waiting time can occur for the vehicle or trailer to take you into the mountain and for convenience we have an onsite coffee facility. Once the Vehicle and/or Trailer is ready you and the other guests will be called to embark. Important to note the base-camp has the toilet facilities once your on your way into the mountain we do not have such facilities (due to the remoteness of the adventure) The trail into the mountain is a very scenic but serious 4x4 road. the duration for this will be an estimated 55 minutes from base camp to the "nest" our departure platform in the mountain. Once you arrive at the "nest" we will allocate guests into weight categories. This is done due to factors such as weather, wind etc in order for us to ensure you have a comfortable adventure. Once your clipped in on the Cable be ready to reach possible speeds of 120Km/h depending on your weight and wind factors. The decent from the mountain will be the closes you will ever get to thinking man can fly. As you leave the "nest" you will be a few meters from the ground and by the time you reach your maximum speed you will be +- 200 meters from the ground and 1 Km from the "nest". The Trees and mountain will zoom by and as you reach the clearing over the fields past the mountain on your way to Base-Camp you will gradually start slowing down. The zipline has been designed to slow down as you reach the end. We do have an emergency breaking system also in place. As you reach the Platform at base camp the receiving guide will assist you to unclip form the cable and you will make your way down the 12 meter staircase to the Harness deck to unharness. For your friends and family not brave enough to participate we have a lovely deck with a small intimate coffee shop. We also offer conference facilities but must be booked prior to arrival. Marine Big 5 Tour Gansbaai All trips are weather and tide dependent and launch times may vary accordingly from those stated. Your launch time will be confirmed the day before. The boat, Dream Catcher, is the first boat in South Africa to be designed specifically for whale watching. It is extremely comfortable and spacious, with on board toilets, an observation deck for photography enthusiasts, PA system and even a hydrophone! Dream Catcher is 14m long and complies with all the safety regulations set out by the marine authorities. Once you have arrived at The Great White House, you will receive a brief introductory talk about the route, safety, and what to look out for. Passengers are fitted with comfortable life-jackets and waterproof jackets. Safety is of the utmost importance. Whale Watching Trip length is between 2 and 2.5 hours, depending on sightings and weather conditions. All cruises depart from Kleinbaai harbour near Gansbaai. Dyer Island is located 8 km from shore and is an access controlled Important Bird Area (IBA) for the conservation of its many resident bird species, including African penguins. Adjacent to Dyer Island is Geyser Rock, home to a 60,000 strong Cape fur seal colony. These seals are present all year round. We will take you into the channel of water between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock known as the world famous ‘Shark Alley’. We will then take you to the whale hot-spots in the bay. With over a decade of experience, not only do we know where to expect the best whale viewings, but the whales have also learned where to expect us! We pride ourselves on being both fun and educational. Each trip is led by experienced marine biologists and guides who will share their knowledge with you, keeping emphasis on the welfare and conservation of the animal. Responsible tourism is our main objective so we focus on conservation, education, community upliftment and safety. The boat is surveyed annually by the SA Maritime Safety Authority, conforms to its specifications and is licensed and fully insured for 50 passengers and 6 crew. Safety equipment includes first aid kit, radio and cellular phone. All clients have to sign an indemnity form on arrival before they can ride, no sign no ride. Kids under 5 years old is free of charge.

Depart from our base camp on one of our routes on this amazing Fynsbos farm. The trail is easy to moderate and the guides will ensure you have a memorable experience. The trail starts with a curvy and flat drive but slowly as you get the hang of it the tour starts heading up the mountains and past the Honingklip Dam. The views are some of the best from our trails we offer. The fleet of bikes are new and we also expect our clients to respect our rules such as safe following distance and speed limits at certain points. We will also put you on a short safety drive to ensure your comfortable with the longer trail ahead. Our Honingklip trail is ideally situated on the main road towards Hermanus if you travel from Cape Town. Cameras on this trip are an absolute must!

Ceres Rail Company offers a magnificent return trip to the Elgin Railway Market aboard our historic passenger train. Our train is usually hauled by a heritage steam locomotive and a diesel, but at times, due to the fire risk and other events beyond our control, the trip may be hauled by two diesel locomotives. The journey begins at 08h05 (passengers to arrive between 07h00 and 07h30) from the platform at Harbour Bridge Hotel and Suites, Dockrail Road, Foreshore, Cape Town. Once aboard you will enjoy a 3-hour rail experience to Elgin, traveling through the beautiful Cape, up the majestic Sir Lowrys Pass, and then down into the Elgin Valley. We have a fully licensed cash bar on board as well as a dining car providing coffee and other snacks. Various books and memorabilia are also available for purchase onboard. We also have a card machine to make life easier. Our destination is the fabulous Art Deco & Art Nouveau inspired Elgin Railway Market (www.elginrailwaymarket.co.za) where you will spend a few hours at your leisure. The Caledon Quad Biking trail starts from our base at the Caledon Hotel and Spa. Our office and workshop is conveniently a few meters from reception of the hotel. The trail will take you through a beautiful forest with large indigenous Oak trees an then into a small confined forest with srubs and trees surrounding you as you move through a tunnel of fauna before you hit an open track section. The open track runs in between farm lands and also along a railway line from where you can view the Swartberg Mountains. The trail has two small water crossings and they are easy and fun to do. We also drive on the river bank of small river as it snakes along our trail. The trail is very versatile in its scenery, trail and allows riders to enjoy the outdoors on a quad bike. No previous experience required.
