Guided bicycle tour

This tour combines the beautiful scenery and sites of Historic Stellenbosch with excellent wine pairings and some healthy outdoor exercise. The tour starts 9:00 at Adventureshop (located at Blackhorse Centre, Corner of Dorp and Mark Street). Each rider will collect a bike and helmet to suit their size. E-Bikes also available. We will carry a snack pack for each rider and the guide will have space in the backpack for those who would like to buy wine en-route. The tour starts with a historic tour of Stellenbosch, visiting some of the historic sites in town. We will cycle through Stellenbosch and head to the scenic Jonkershoek Valley. A winding road through oak and poplar forests will take you to a wine estate nestled in the valley bottom, here you can take in the stunning views while doing wine tasting of award winning wines on an island in a lake. On the way out of the valley, you will stop at another wine estate which sports beautiful grounds and historic Cape Dutch architecture. Here we will do a cellar tour before we start our Chocolate and Wine pairing that will make your taste buds tingle. After the tasting we will head back into Stellenbosch Town via the Stellenbosch University before ending the tour again at our office There are some variations to the route, with varying levels of difficulty so the tour can be tailored to suit your cycling ability. Family tours can also be booked. NEW: Option to do the tour on an E- bike at an additional cost of R150 per bike Children under 5 years are free (cycle in baby seat with parents). Children who cycle on their own, full rate. Children will do Chocolate and Ice tea tasting.

Uninterrupted views of our spectacular mountain range and the sea breeze will leave you feeling rejuvenated and hungry to taste more of what The Mother City has to offer. The trip to Granger Bay takes us past the Green Point Lighthouse, the wrecks of the Seafarer and RMS Athens, and one of the favorite hangouts for our endemic Heaviside (Benguela) dolphins. This 3 to 4 hour experience will take you on a journey as you discover the incredible coast line between Kommetjie and Noordhoek along the Cape Peninsula. Your journey starts in Kommetjie where you will be fitted for a wetsuit. From here you will proceed to slipway where adventure starts. The boat trip will head to the furthest point, the Bos wreck situated just off Sandy Beach. Along the way, James will provide you with the rich history of the wreck and local area. From here, you will proceed to Duiker Island in the shadows of Karkonkelberg. Duiker Island is home to an incredible population of Cape Fur Seals. Here you get to swim and snorkel with the Cape fur seals, an activity like no other! Next up on the tour is exploring the hidden coves along Chapman’s Peak Drive. Ths unreal experience will give you a different perspective of this famous attractions. For the adrenaline junkies, there are a couple of rock jumps into the freezing Atlantic Ocean to get the blood pumping. The boat trip will now head back to Kommetjie along the Noordhoek coast-line. After changing into dry clothes, coffee is the order of the day! Please note this experience is extremely weather dependent.
