Hout Bay is a small town situated close to Cape Town. It is the gateway to the world-famous Chapman’s Peak Drive. Hout Bay is best known for its excellent swimming beach, harbour and fabulous hiking trails. A great base from which to explore the neighbouring Constantia Winelands, Cape Town or the rest of The Cape Peninsula.

Hout Bay was an important place during the early settlement of the Cape. The name Hout (Wood) was given due to the vast forests that grew in the area. The wood (Hout) was used from the forests in the constructions of settlements and ships.

Today Hout Bay is a favourite among tourists and locals alike and visitors are able to EXPERIENCE the natural beauty and numerous attractions in the area. The harbour offers visitors the opportunity to EXPLORE numerous boat-based activities including swimming and diving with seals, harbour cruises, kayaking to name a few. In addition, the harbour is home to several excellent restaurants, craft breweries and the extremely popular Bay harbour Market.
