The Waterfront Charters 60 minute ‘Cruise under Sail’ across Table Bay is the perfect way to see Table Mountain and Cape Town’s Atlantic shoreline. Leaving from the V&A Waterfront, the routing is weather dependent; either to Milnerton and back if the south-easter is blowing, or towards Robben Island in north-westerly wind conditions. With either option, you’ll experience the excitement and thrills of sailing in Table Bay aboard one of Waterfront Charters beautiful yachts – with chilled refreshments aboard it’s the perfect way to spend an hour. VARIATION TO CRUISE (DUE TO WEATHER) For all the vessels, when the seas are running too high or the wind is unpleasantly strong, instead of heading into Table Bay the destination is the Cape Town Harbour for a Harbour Day Cruise or a Harbour Lights Cruise. This safety feature is a perfect alternative, offering magical views of the harbour, Cape Town and Table Mountain and in the evening the lights of Cape Town and the harbour. In extreme conditions, the skipper will take every aspect into account, and even stay dockside to ensure the safety of the passengers. * In the unlikely event that the primary boat for this cruise is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to utilize an alternative vessel for this experience. A Unique way to Experience Cape Town’s Table Mountain. This 5 km track will take you on an adventurous off road track down the side of Signall Hill into Bo Kaap. The Experience continues as you are transported to Table Mountain for you final run down a single track off this world famous land mark! We start at Table Mountain's Lower Parking Area just off Kloof Nek Road. This is at the Table Mountain Info Office and there is plenty of safe parking. After guests are kitted out with their helmets and gloves they get transported to the top of Signal Hill for their 1st Downhill Run. The trip is not only fun but also informative as the guides will keep you entertained with info about the area aswell! We get picked up in Bo Kaap by the driver and then we head for the main run down Table Mountain from Dead Man's tree all the way down to Deer Park where the driver will pick us up again and bring us back to the starting point at Lower Table Mountain. Scooters are non motorised making this eco friendly. These Swiss designed scooters are used in the Alps during the summer season on the ski slopes when the snow is gone. All trips are guided by professional qualified guides. Childrens rates apply for kids 9 and younger

Seal and Kelp Forest Scuba Dive Package Cape Town

Kelp Forest Dive One of our more popular kelp forest sites is at Pyramid Rock where we have a good possibility of encountering the Sevengill shark, which is also called the Cow shark or Broadnose sevengill. The maximum depth is only 12 metres making it ideal for beginner and junior divers to join. The shallow depths and picturesque environment makes this is the ideal environment for photographers aiming to capture these sharks in their natural habitat. The Cowsharks aggregate in the shallow channel between Pyramid Rock and the shore. If the sharks are present, there can be up to 30 sharks in the aggregation. Their curious and inquisitive nature means there is no baiting involved and we rely solely on a specific area where these animals are known to aggregate. Aside from the main attraction, the kelp forest is a beautiful environment to explore. There is an abundance of life in the kelp forest understorey. We do have times when the sharks are not present in the area – please enquire about recent sightings when booking to have realistic expectations. If the Cowsharks are not evident, then look out for the Spotted Gully sharks, which attain 1.7 metres in length. This is a timid shark more easily approached by freedivers than SCUBA divers. Then there are several species of catshark: the Pyjama catshark, Puffadder Shyshark, Leopard shyshark and Dark shyshark. These smaller sharks are between 50cm and 1.2 metres in length. The huge Short-tailed rays can occasionally be spotted. These rays grow up to 2 metres across the disk. Cape Fur Seal Dive The Cape Fur Seal dive is a super fun and interactive dive and one of the signature dives that Cape Town has offered for more than two decades. The seals are very playful and love to show their acrobatic skills to divers. These seals are used to divers and are not shy at all, they will often jump in the water in large numbers to come and investigate and play with divers. We dive at Partridge Point, an exposed haul-out spot for seals. There are times when the water can be rough at the site due to waves or currents. We will make a careful assessment before entering the water and reserve the right to divert the divers to a more protected site if conditions warrant it. A shallow section of the reef, known as the amphitheatre, is the best spot to interact with the Seals. The deeper sections of the reef offer beautiful marine life, swim-throughs and large sea fans.

The “REAL” Seal Island is situated 8 nautical miles (about 16 kilometers) from Simon’s Town. It is home to approximately 75 000 cape fur seals, a large variety of sea bird species (including penguins) & in the winter months is the hunting ground of the great white shark. En-route to the island the views are truly spectacular, with Cape Point in the distance to your right, Table Mountain and the Constantia wine route to your left and the majestic Hottentot’s Holland mountain range up ahead. You may also see whales & dolphins if you're lucky and as we use our permitted whale watching boats for this trip outside of the traditional whale season, we are legally permitted to approach & interact with them. The tour includes an expert guided commentary by a qualified marine guide.
