Cape Peninsula Tour for Photographers

Highlights: You will be collected well before sunrise, in order to get to St. James’s beach; to photograph as the first golden rays illuminates the colourful beach huts. This also offers your personal photocoach to teach you how to photograph and improve your seascape photographs using slow shutter speeds to create motion blur in the waves and add impact to your photographs. We then make our way to Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town, to photograph the African Penguins before the masses and tour busses arrives, and take you to our secret photo spots to get really great photographs of African Penguins. On our Full Day Photo Tour we also visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. This offers us the opportunity to photograph Chacma Baboons, Cape Mountain Zebra, Bontebok and Eland, and several bird species including Ostrich and Black Oystercatchers, as well as beautiful landscapes with rich and diverse fynbos vegetation. We also visit the historical lighthouse with its spectacular views and take a “Kodak Moment” at the sign at Cape of Good Hope. We return to Cape Town in the late afternoon via Chapman’s Peak drive, the most scenic drive in Cape Town. For those new to photography and still learning, this is the perfect tour for you as it offers a wide variety of opportunities to learn and sharpen your skills as a photographer.

FULL DAY ADVENTURE Experience a full day of adventure with a 65 meter waterfall abseil, canyoning (also known as kloofing) with jumps from 3 to 22 meters high and a beautiful hike. The day is spent in the Kogelberg biosphere reserve which is characterised by exciting adventures, beautiful scenery, towering cliffs and rock pools. Your all day Adventure starts at 8am at the Pitstop Lodge with a hearty breakfast on arrival. After a safety briefing you enter into the Steenbras River Gorge and start the 45 minute hike through beautiful fynbos to the first cliff jumping pools. Guests spend an hour doing the various jumps, then head off on the second hike taking you to the top of the gorge to conquer the 65 meter waterfall abseil. The hike back to the pools take about 30 minutes. Guests are then able to take on the exhilarating jumps once more before making their way back to Pitstop Lodge for a Light Dinner and a cold beer. This Canyoning trip is ideal for novice to seasoned adrenaline junkies and offers striking views. No tours in Cape Town would be complete without a visit to the Bo Kaap! Many exhibits can be found here, and there is also a Planetarium situated within the building. The museum is situated in the Company Gardens, which holds the Seat of Parliament.
