The following species are are commonly found in the Grasslands: * Cheetah, zebra * Wildebeest * Secretary bird * Kori bustard Thickets are good habitats for * Bushbuck * Nyala * Leopards * Lions * Verraux's Eagle Owl * Crowned Eagle If you are after elephant, buffalo and the African Fish Eagle, than it is the riverine bush is what you want to see during your drive. A reminder that the meeting point is just outside Crocodile Bridge gate. Pick up can be arranged at certain Komatipoort lodges.

It's one of the hardest-fighting freshwater fish and is also renowned for its escape tactics. Landing one of these beasts is a feat on its own.
