THE VENUE
History & Bushveld Beauty!
Base camp centres on a beautifully preserved clay-and-dung farmhouse dating to the Anglo-Boer War — one of the last of its kind still standing in the Waterberg. Expect electricity-free ambiance (a few charging points aside), a campfire burning 24/7, outdoor showers, and the kind of deep-sky darkness you only get far from city lights. Bring your own tent and food to braai — coals provided. Cold drinks on sale. Explore the farmhouse, sit on the stoep with a beer overlooking the Waterberg. An art gallery and traditional Sepedi village sit just a couple of hundred metres from base camp. Big game drives and horse riding are available nearby.
Come for the run. Stay for the stoep, the stars, and the serenity of the Bushveld
THE COURSE
Two Loops · One Wild Farm Runners alternate between two 6.7 km loops, each offering a distinct Waterberg experience — gum forest, lily-pad dam, open bushveld game tracks, and big African skies. Expect warthog, bushbuck, duiker, and spectacular sunsets
Loop 1:
Gum Forest, Stream & Dam Winds through eucalyptus, crosses a rocky seasonal stream, and skirts a beautiful lily-pad dam. Shaded, atmospheric, and alive with birdlife.
Loop 2:
Bushveld, Acacia & Game Tracks Open game tracks through classic Waterberg bushveld — acacia, vaalbos, red-grass plains. Watch for warthog, bushbuck, and duiker.
