In Athlone, we see first-hand the role of the "Coloured"/Mixed Race South Africans in the Liberation Struggle by visiting significant sites and monuments which tell the story of those who have paid the ultimate price in the Struggle. We visit the home of the quintessential Cape Flats go-to meal, the Gatsby, and explore other tastes, sights and sounds from this area.
The tour includes an optional visit to a local artist or a local aunty for a koeksister tasting.
