Arguably one of the most beautiful hikes up table mountain is the skeleton gorge route. Starting off in Kirstenbosch gardens with its rich collection of fynbos. Following up on a densely wooded kloof with exciting ladders next to waterfalls we will reach the white sandy beaches of Table mountain. This is the perfect route for a hot day in cape town allowing for a different perspective of table mountain. Quick route description Our hike will start in the beautiful Kirstenbosch gardens. from here we will hike up to the contour path via smuts track until the official start of the route. following the stepped path up the densely wooded gorge keeping to the left of the watercourse until we reach A STEEP SECTION WELL EQUIPED WITH LADDERS TO EASILY CLIMB OVER THE POLISHED ROCK. AFTER THIS THE ROUTE FOLLOWS THE ROCKY STREAM BED FOR A SHORT DISTANCE, BEFORE BEARING OUT TO THE RIGHT TO ZIG-ZAG UP THE SLOPE. HIGHER UP THE PATH CROSSES THE GORGE AGAIN TO TAKE THE LEFT SIDE TO THE TOP WHERE MOUNTAIN MEETS SANDY WHITE BEACH. Difficulty: EASY Skeleton Gorge Hike Length: 2.5 to 3 hours Hike Distance: 6.5km / 4.4 miles Elevation Gain: 900 meters / 3000 feet

Well supportive closed-toe walking shoes with good grip are a must. Cape town does experience very hot days in the summer and a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and water will be needed. A long sleeve button-up shirt with a collar provides great sun coverage.

CANCELLATIONS There will be no refunds in the event of a no-show by guests on the activity date. In the event of an amendment not received 3 days prior to activity booked the guest will still be responsible for the full cost for the total number of passengers originally confirmed.
Management of Cape Mountain Guides PTY (Ltd) reserves the right to cancel any activity due to unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to, insufficient passengers and/or unfavourable weather conditions. In case of a weather cancellation, weather conditions are judged exclusively by the Management of Cape Mountain Guides.
In the event of a cancellation by Cape Mountain Guides Management, a refund will be given on the amount paid
INDEMNITY All participants are required to sign an indemnity form for all activities they are participating in prior to departure of the activity. If a guest refuses to sign the indemnity form, the guest will not be able to partake in the activity. The indemnity form must be signed by a Parent/Legal guardian for minors under 16 years. Any unaccompanied child 16 or under requires the indemnity to be signed by a parent/legal guardian prior to the activity.
CHILD POLICY: Children Rates apply to minors aged between 4 and 9 years who join trip as a passenger on a Scooter. For minors 10 years and older adult rates apply. Minimum age is 4 years and minimum hight is 95cm Children between 4 and 9 years are passengers with parents and Scootours Passenger Tickets prices apply. Children from the age of 10 years and up can ride their own scooter and Scootours Driver Tickets Prices apply. Adult supervision is required for kids of 12 years and younger.
GENERAL 2 guests are required to run a hike on Table Mountain. Management reserves the right to amend/cancel/add terms & conditions without notice. All terms & conditions are subject to South African Law & Jurisdiction. If Cape Mountain Guides (Pty) ltd does not have access to the venue of the booked service or voucher on the day of the tour then Cape Mountain Guides (Pty) ltd has the right to move the tour to another venue. REFUND POLICY The provision services by Cape Mountain Guides is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, Cape Mountain Guides will refund the client in full within 30 days.
CANCELLATION POLICY 30 days cancellation before arrival 100% refund - less 3.6% in the case of online credit card transactions. 29 - 15 days cancellation before arrival 75% refund - less 3.6% in the case of online credit card transactions. 14 – 4 days cancellation before arrival 50% refund - less 3.6% in the case of online credit card transactions. 3 days-24 hrs cancellation before arrival 0% refund
