The 3Pack are 3 surf lessons of an hour and a half each, suitable for private lessons and groups. Surfing require a lot of practice and technique. Through the 3Pack you'll be able to setup the first building blocks for your surfing. - Overview of your surfboard and how to handle the surfboard in and out of the ocean. - Introduce a winning pop-up technique that has helped hundreds of students catch their first wave! - Reading of waves: Where and when to catch waves will expand your knowledge to give you the confidence to catch your own waves. - Surf safety. - Steering left and right on a wave. - Eskimo / Trutle roll to get through waves and more. If you've had a few lessons before, we will assess your current surf ability at the beginning of the surf lesson and coach you to progress and what to focus on. Lastly, this lesson will include a lot of FUN! The best is to leave any valuables at your accommodation. There is the option to leave your phone, car keys or small bags with above mentioned items in the Surf Life vehicle, but this will be at your own risk and Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd won't be held liable for any damages or losses.

By booking our surf lessons, surf rentals, balance, breath and paddle fitness training, surf workshops, surf retreats or coaching sessions, you state that you have read and agree with the following terms and conditions. Terms & Conditions updated on 30th October 2023 1. UNFAVOURABLE WEATHER AND SURF CONDITIONS: • Surf destinations are chosen by Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd instructors/staff for the quality of waves and weather but as a company we’re not responsible for poor surf or bad weather. We select our surf locations based on years of surf experience. • Surf forecasts are not always accurate and this can result in changes of surf and weather on the day of your surf lesson, surf workshop, balance, breath and paddle fitness training, surf retreat or coaching session. It’s your responsibility to research the area’s suitability and ensure you’re happy prior to booking. 2. IF IT’S FLAT OR STORMY WEATHER ON OUR SURF COACHING DAYS, WEEKENDS or RETREATS: • In the event of flat waves or stormy conditions for a surf coaching session, surf workshop or surf retreat we will offer alternative activities to help you get the most out of the ocean conditions. This may include stand up paddle boarding, balance, breath and paddle fitness training, underwater confidence workshops. • We may adjust the format of the surf lessons, balance, breath and paddle fitness training, surf workshop or surf retreat. • We will supply as much notice as possible under the circumstances and if conditions demand, we may postpone a surf lesson, surf workshop, balance, breath and paddle fitness training, surf retreat or coaching weekend. If it’s impossible to offer a water-based activity, we can provide a voucher for these sessions. • Please be open-minded. We’re dealing with mother nature and can’t be held responsible for lack of waves or stormy conditions. 3. ENVIRONMENTAL DANGERS: • Our surf lessons, surf workshops and surf retreats involve a natural environment that we can’t control. These include, but are not limited to jellyfish/blue bottles, sea urchins, sharp rocks, puffer fish, shells, strong waves, rips, currents, sharks and other ocean creatures that can cause physical, mental and emotional impact on you as a person. • Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd, its founder, staff or surf instructors can’t be held responsible for injuries, loss of life or any other activities or dangers that you as a customer may experience or engage in. We try our best to ensure safety comes first always but natural things will occur and caution must be taken at all times. It is understood that you agree to these dangers when booking. 4. CANCELLATION POLICY: • The booking or registration for surf lessons, surf rentals of surf equipment, surf clinics, fitness, balance, breath training & surf theory workshops, courses(online or in-person), and surf retreats is binding when you receive a booking confirmation email. 4.1 SURF LESSONS & SURF EQUIPMENT RENTALS: • Canceling 48 hours before your surf lesson(s) or surf rental commences, you will forfeit 40% of your surf package or surf equipment payment. • Canceling 24 hours before your lesson(s) commences, you will forfeit a 70% deposit of your surf package or surf equipment payment. • Canceling on the day of your surf lesson, you will forfeit your full surf package or surf equipment payment. • Any bank fees on refunds will be paid by the customer and Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd won’t be kept liable for any transaction fees or any other cost that may occur in order to issue a partial refund. • A 10% admin fee will be charged on any refunds. • No cash refund will be issued to Client. • All cancellations must be in writing and will be effective from the date we received them. Please email any cancellation to info@surflife.co.za 4.2 SURF CLINICS and WORKSHOPS: • Cancellation of a booking(s) in a surf workshop or clinic by the Client must take place a minimum of 4 days before the beginning of the first session of the workshop or surf clinic in order to get 100% refunded. • Canceling 48 hours before your surf workshop or surf clinic commences, you will forfeit 40% of your booking payment. • Canceling 24 hours before your surf workshop or surf clinic commences, you will forfeit a 70% deposit of your booking payment. • Canceling on the day of your surf workshop or surf clinic, you will forfeit your full booking payment. • Any bank fees on refunds will be paid by the customer and Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd won’t be kept liable for any transaction fees or any other cost that may occur in order to issue a partial refund. • A 10% admin fee will be charged on any refunds. • No cash refund will be issued to Client. • All cancellations must be in writing and will be effective from the date we received them. Please email any cancellation to info@surflife.co.za 4.4 SURF RETREATS: • In case of cancellation more than 70 days/10 weeks before the start of a surf retreat, 90% of the price is refunded. The 10% deposit won’t be refunded to the client. • In case of cancellation 31 - 50 days before the retreat / course starts, 40% won’t be refunded to the client. • In case of cancellation 12 - 30 days before the retreat / course starts, 70% won’t be refunded to the client. • In case of cancellation less than 10 days before the retreat / course starts, no refund will be issued to the client. • All cancellations must be in writing and will be effective from the date we received them. Please email any cancellation to info@surflife.co.za Rescheduling is possible if done with at least: • 45 days of notice before a surf retreat. • 5 days before a surf workshop, surf clinic, online surf courses. • 3 days before a surf lesson or surf rental of surfboards or wetsuits. Rescheduling is subject to availability. Rescheduled retreats are non-refundable and can’t be changed. First rescheduling is complimentary. Surf Retreats: A flat rescheduling fee of R 2000 is charged for the second rescheduling Surf Lessons and Balance, Breath and Paddle Fitness Training: A flat rescheduling fee of R 150 is charged for every reschedule. Surf Rentals (Surfboard and Wetsuits): A flat rescheduling fee of R 100 is charged for every reschedule. Surf Workshops & Surf Clinics: A flat rescheduling fee of R 350 is charged for every reschedule. Lessons, rentals, workshops, clinics, courses, retreats at discounted rates cannot be canceled. Gift vouchers and deposits are not refundable. All cancellations and rescheduling are only valid if in writing and sent to info@surflife.co.za. 5. PAYMENT TERMS & METHODS • All surf packages need to be purchased up front and paid in full before a surf lesson, surf rental, surf workshop or clinic, surf retreat will proceed. • Indemnity forms also need to be submitted and completed in full order before a surf lesson, surf rental, surf workshop or clinic, surf retreat will proceed. The lead person signing the booking form accepts responsibility for payment for everyone listed on the booking. As lead person, it’s your responsibility to ensure that all other persons listed on the booking form have read the booking conditions below and are aware of the booking details. 5.1 SURF LESSONS & SURF EQUIPMENT RENTALS: • All surf packages need to be paid in full upon booking a surf lesson or surf rental. • Please view the cancellation policy at 4.1 5.2 SURF CLINICS and WORKSHOPS: • All surf packages need to be paid in full upon booking a surf clinic or surf workshop. • Please view the cancellation policy at 4.2 5.3 BALANCE, BREATH and PADDLE FITNESS Training: • All balance, breath and paddle fitness packages need to be paid in full upon booking. • Please view the cancellation policy at 4.3 5.4 SURF RETREATS: • For all retreats and dates, a 20% deposit is required to complete and secure your booking. You may book a retreat with a deposit (down payment) until 10 weeks prior to the retreat start date, after which full payment is required to secure your spot. The remaining balance of your retreat payment is due 6 weeks before the retreat begins. We will notify you of the balance due date after your deposit has been processed. If the final balance is not received by the due date, then your booking cannot be guaranteed and Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd reserves the right to cancel your booking without refunding your deposit. • Please view the cancellation policy at 4.4 5.5 COURSES (In person or online): • All balance, breath and paddle fitness packages need to be paid in full upon booking. • Please view the cancellation policy at 4.5 5.6. The Client is solely responsible for the management of recurring payments. 6. COPYRIGHTS The Copyright of Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd and the Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd brand and trademark lies solely with Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd. The Client may not use the trademark without written consent from Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd owner and/or management. All materials, images, exercises, videos, and any other content or media provided as part of Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd online surf courses, balance, breath and paddle fitness training, surf workshops, and coaching sessions are entirely for your personal use. They may not be shared, copied, resold or in any way sent to third parties, either for profit or for personal use. No other use of the materials or information is authorized. Any violation of this may result in civil and/or criminal liabilities. 7. CONFIDENTIALITY and PRIVACY All information shared by the Client during workshops, courses, retreats and coaching sessions are confidential, but Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd is legally obligated to inform emergency services and/or other authorities should we believe you are in danger of harm, may harm yourself, or others; or are in a potentially illegal situation or engaging in unlawful activity. All your data, including personal information, contact details, and payment details are and will remain confidential unless I am legally required to divulge this information by request, or when you give Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd explicit permission in writing to share it on your behalf. We hold any information you provide to us under strict confidentiality. If you choose to book a holiday or request further information, we may keep your details on file to send you new versions of our newsletter or to give you details of special offers. We do not sell our customer details to anyone. If you wish us to remove any details we may have stored simply send an email to info@surflife.co.za with your full name, surname and email address requesting that we remove your details. Please note that we’re required by law to retain information on financial transactions we’ve had with our customers. If you have any further questions on our privacy policy please do not hesitate to contact us. 8. RESPONSIBILITY Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd acts only as agents for accommodation providers, transportation or other services when offering surf retreats. We will not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss of or damage to any property. This includes incidents relating to third party suppliers such as employee negligence or resulting directly or indirectly from; acts of God, dangers, incidents of the sea, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of governments or other authorities, wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations of or changes in schedules, or overbooking or defaults, or from any causes beyond our control. 9. GUARANTEES Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd does not make any guarantees about your results and cannot guarantee a specific outcome, e.g. ‘be an intermediate or advanced surfer by X date’ or ‘you’ll be standing up on the surfboard in your first surf lesson.’ Personal results may vary depending on individual efforts, and an infinite number of external factors. Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd will aim to provide you high level of service, helping you to get the most out of any program, but Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd is not liable for any loss, damage or other expense you may incur as a direct or indirect result of coaching or other services used, especially where/if you have not followed the course or qualified instruction as directed. Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd reserves the right, at any time, to stop any surf lesson, surf workshop or clinic, surf retreat or related process with the Client if we believe it is dangerous to proceed or the program is not suitable for the issues at hand. We may be able to suggest other service providers, but take no responsibility for any other service or recommendations after that. 10. INSURANCE As with any holiday, full travel insurance is a requirement for all guests booking a trip with the company. Please also ensure that your policy covers you for ‘disruption to travel’ and ‘cover for cancellations’ as standard. You may need to add additional cover for surfing, it is essential that your insurance policy covers you for all these. Failure to take out travel insurance breaks the contract between Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd and the client. If you are joining one of our trips and you are native to the country where the trip is being held (i.e you live in South Africa and are joining our Cape Town trip) you do not need medical travel insurance as long as you have your own personal health-care plan or are covered by your country’s National Health Service. Although, we request that you still take out trip disruption and cancellation insurance to cover all possible eventualities. 11. SUPPLIERS’ CONDITIONS Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd may at times make use of suppliers who offer expertise services, online booking systems, equipment or materials, venues, accommodation or transportation to support the surf lesson, workshop or clinic, surf retreat. Suppliers have their own booking conditions or conditions of carriage. You will be bound by those as far as the relevant supplier is concerned. Some of these conditions may limit or exclude liability on the part of the relevant supplier, or give the supplier the right to alter or cancel arrangements without penalty. 12. LIABILITY The Client certifies that they are physically, emotionally and mentally fit, and have not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional. The Client is responsible to inform Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd staff or surf instructors of any physical and mental health-related reasons or problems, which preclude their participation in this activity. The Client acknowledges that Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd will use this Release of Liability Form and that it will govern their actions and responsibilities at all activities with Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd by confirming the reservation of the activity, the Client hereby certifies that they are over 18 years old, they have read this document and fully understand its content, they are aware that this is a release of liability and a contract and accept it of their own free will. All children under the age of 18 years need written consent from their guardians to participate in any of Surf Life Surf School PTY Ltd surf lessons, surf rentals, surf workshops or clinics, surf retreats or online courses. Please arrive 10 minutes before your lesson is about to start and meet the Surf Life SA Team on the grass area in the big parking lot at Hang Ten Drive, Eden on the Bay, Big Bay Transport to and from the beach is not included. You will need to get yourselves there via Uber or own rental vehicle. Please note that if you are considering taking an Uber or personal transport, you'll need to give yourself 35 - 45 minutes of travel time, traffic dependent. Please consider the time to get parking at Eden on the Bay. On weekends the parking fill up quickly. It can take 5 - 15 minutes to find a parking bay.
