Platteklip gorge is the easiest and quickest way up table mountain with a rock staircase all the way. Quickly gaining elevation you will have amazing city views and a chance to learn more about our rich city culture. get a real feel of table mountain and the people who love to hike on it. Quick route description Platteklip gorge follows a well-constructed pat hall the way and is the easiest most direct route up Table Mountain. The hike will start about a kilometer past the lower cable station. from here we'll quickly gain elevation until we join the contour path a quick walk to the left brings us to the start of the path. At first, the route follows up to the left side of the gorge, then into the gorge itself higher up. at the final section, we'll walk through a point where the gorge narrows down considerably a high point of the hike. from here we'll either turn right to the highest point of table mountain or left to the cable station. Difficulty: easy Hike Duration: 2.5 to 3 hours Distance: About 2.5 km / 1.6 miles Platteklip Gorge Elevation Gain: 680 meters / 2230 feet

Well supportive closed-toe walking shoes with good grip are a must. Cape town does experience very hot days in the summer and a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and water will be needed. A long sleeve button-up shirt with a collar provides great sun coverage.

CANCELLATIONS There will be no refunds in the event of a no-show by guests on the activity date. In the event of an amendment not received 3 days prior to activity booked the guest will still be responsible for the full cost for the total number of passengers originally confirmed.
Management of Cape Mountain Guides PTY (Ltd) reserves the right to cancel any activity due to unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to, insufficient passengers and/or unfavourable weather conditions. In case of a weather cancellation, weather conditions are judged exclusively by the Management of Cape Mountain Guides.
In the event of a cancellation by Cape Mountain Guides Management, a refund will be given on the amount paid
INDEMNITY All participants are required to sign an indemnity form for all activities they are participating in prior to departure of the activity. If a guest refuses to sign the indemnity form, the guest will not be able to partake in the activity. The indemnity form must be signed by a Parent/Legal guardian for minors under 16 years. Any unaccompanied child 16 or under requires the indemnity to be signed by a parent/legal guardian prior to the activity.
CHILD POLICY: Children Rates apply to minors aged between 4 and 9 years who join trip as a passenger on a Scooter. For minors 10 years and older adult rates apply. Minimum age is 4 years and minimum hight is 95cm Children between 4 and 9 years are passengers with parents and Scootours Passenger Tickets prices apply. Children from the age of 10 years and up can ride their own scooter and Scootours Driver Tickets Prices apply. Adult supervision is required for kids of 12 years and younger.
GENERAL 2 guests are required to run a hike on Table Mountain. Management reserves the right to amend/cancel/add terms & conditions without notice. All terms & conditions are subject to South African Law & Jurisdiction. If Cape Mountain Guides (Pty) ltd does not have access to the venue of the booked service or voucher on the day of the tour then Cape Mountain Guides (Pty) ltd has the right to move the tour to another venue. REFUND POLICY The provision services by Cape Mountain Guides is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, Cape Mountain Guides will refund the client in full within 30 days.
CANCELLATION POLICY 30 days cancellation before arrival 100% refund - less 3.6% in the case of online credit card transactions. 29 - 15 days cancellation before arrival 75% refund - less 3.6% in the case of online credit card transactions. 14 – 4 days cancellation before arrival 50% refund - less 3.6% in the case of online credit card transactions. 3 days-24 hrs cancellation before arrival 0% refund
