Views for days… Exciting new collaboration gives you a birds eye view of the Robberg Nature Reserve and beyond.
Cape Nature and Adventure Zone have joined forces to add an exhilarating new way to experience the Robberg Reserve whilst abseiling the cliffs of this world heritage site and picturesque nature reserve. Abseiling, also known as rappelling, is sliding down a rope under controlled conditions with an opportunity to pause and immerse yourself in the surroundings as you descend.
Robberg boasts some of the most scenic trails on the Garden Route, is a marine protected area home to a thriving cape fur seal colony last recorded over 6000 and growing. In the area there are also frequent sightings of whales, dolphins and sharks.
The reserve is also well known for the uninterrupted views of the bay towards the Tsitsikamma Mountains, cliffs and caves with some rocks dating back over 120 million years to the Gondwanaland break up and a few of the caves have evidence of stone age inhabitation. There is also long expanses of sandy beach making it a must visit for out door enthusiasts, trail runners and hikers to name a few.
This breath-taking activity gives you the opportunity to experience viewpoints of the peninsula that hasn’t been seen before. The abseil is the equivalent of 12 stories or 35 meters of magnificent views across Robberg, The Island and beyond.
In addition, The abseil also provides a fascinating look at the ancient rock formations dating back 120 million years with evidence of Middle and Later Stone Age inhabitation along the peninsula, home to Nelson Bay Cave, which forms part of the Cradle of Human Culture Route.
Adventure Zone has two other sites I South Africa with this being its newest. Their guides are highly trained, qualified, and super enthusiastic to share this bucket list experience. They will do everything they can to ensure you enjoy your activity with your safety front and centre.
